I believe that President Obama flooded Sunday morning with interviews so that he could get his clarify his goals. He broadcasted on a wide array of television channels, and expounded on his health care proposal so that people could put “their whole arms around it.” While addressing his health care proposal, he also tried to clear up the situation with Joe Wilson, stating that “race is catnip to the media” and “this debate is not about race, it’s about people being worried about how our government should operate.” The interview was mostly about Obama wanting to focus on the task at hand, rather than the little, less important, comments said.

President Obama made it his priority to let his message he heard; Despite the popularity of the infamous “Liar” outburst. To be honest when reading the article online, the five interviews Obama did, I thought was directed to the public. People like my mother and Mr. Brown. But after talking about it in our class discussion I realized that like Mr. Brown said the public” my mother and Mr.Brown” don’t receive the opportunity to vote for the healthcare plan instead its Congress. The government is the judge of whether this is the best plan for our country. In conclusion Mr.Obama flooded our Sunday morning to reach out to congress and hopefully persuade them to join his “healthcare wagon”.

I believe that President Obama is 'flooding Sunday morning with his message' is just to hit certain audiences as part of his drive to pass health care overhaul legislation. He wants to get his point out there and do it any way necessary. He did the interview with several news stations that basically support what he says and does. I also agree with him for not doing the interview with FOX news because they would try to bring him down and he doesn't need that while trying to get his point across to the American people.

I'm confused about the question that you are asking.

To what Mr. Brown said in this after class I agree thathe was just targeting the reporters on the 5 news channels so that they wont have there own she say he say stuff and have whats was really being said by the president. Also he could be showing the message to the people who watch news religiously for breakfast, launch and dinner and their free time too.

President Obama on sunday went on an interview on five different channels. He gave straight answers and keep a serious face. All the interviews consisted of the same questions. Obama main purpose of going on an interview to all these channels was to reach out to congress. He wasns't really reaching out to the people becuase we the people can't vote for the bill to go through. Since congress is the only part of the government that can put the bill through, Obama made sure that his point came across through those interviews. I feel that congress should put the bill through becuase it doesn't hurt to try an idea that can possibliably work out for the better.

President Obama is flooding Sunday morning with his message, because I believe he wants everyone to be alert about his healthcare plan. He wants everyone to get healthcare whether they want it or not … but then again as we were talking in class what if I don’t want healthcare insurance what am we supposed to do. What if god forbids I get into an accident and I need to go to the hospital what am I supposed to do then if I have no insurance at all? Basically I believe everyone should get healthcare coverage but why do we have to pay for it why does it have to come from our pockets?
Besides that Obama had a good interview with most of the news station like Elizabeth said he had a straight face and got to his point. They all loved Obama, but either way Obama just wants to get his message out to most America so they can support him in his healthcare plan.

President Obama flooded the Sunday news programs in my opinion to get the topic off racism. Before Sunday morning the news headlines were about the comments of former president Jimmy Carter and Maureen Dawd. Obama used this morning to not only change topics but to push further the healthcare reform plan, showing in all five shows his goals and not changing any of his points. President Obama did not chose to broadcast on Fox news because now there headlines have changed to why didn't Obama broadcast on our station, rather then it being about the racism topics.

The Sunday marathon that Obama airedwas NOT, in my opinion, a media present. The airing looked like it was brodcasted to reach out to people concerned with the healthcare plan. The multiple interviews, I think, were aimed to give an undisputed air of confidence to people on the wall. In effect, though, this also was meant to be digested by the media and used as a basis for quuestioning down the road. His speeches did come off as a little bit of sounding too good to be true. They left no room for argument, or debate, or concern.

I agree with KendraD. when she states that the reason why President Obama flooded Sunday morning with interviews to reach out to Congress and hopefully persuade them to join his "healthplan wagon". President Obama wanted his message to be
established to the people who wanted to recieve his goals. His dedication to our country is remarkable and he's looking for the believers who are determained with him. That is probably why he didnt go on Fox 5 because he knew during or after the interview, something negative would of been released, he saved the time and frustration.

President Obama flooded Sunday morning programming to express goals and outlooks on the health care issue. I believe the programming was stated to both America and Congress. To America to show how he is going to change the situation and also to Congress because they have the final say. I think Obama was really smart to reach out to the people because they are the ones that will be receiving the health care.

I don't completely agree with Philip M. when he states that "He broadcasted on a wide array of television channels, and expounded on his health care proposal so that people could put “their whole arms around it.” " because a vast majority of the class and their parents did not watch Obama’s blitz. I believe president Obama knows what time he should appear on television screens to reach that American people and early Sunday morning sure isn’t the time. Perhaps Mr. Obama’s Sunday morning flood was to reassure the Republican congress that don’t stand with him that his healthcare plan is going to be placed into affect whether they supported him or not. However honestly I still am not to sure about who Obama's target audience was for his Sunday morning flood, but whoever it was I hope that they got the message loud and clear.

Mr. Obama flooded the news on sunday morning because he wanted to get his healthcare reform message across. He got interviewed by several network stations except Fox. Not only did he do this, but he also did it to clear up the whole Joe Wilson; Jimmy Carter and race issue. Even though Obama was been asked the same questions, he always gave a well-informed response. All interviews focused mainly on the healthcare reform.

I believe that President Obama flooded Sunday morning with interviews so he can get it point across and to ostracize the nonsense from the "Liar" situation. He wanted to reach out to the congress like Elizabeth said only the congress can agree or disagree with his plan. There are no interruptions just questions and truthful answers. or maybe he did the interviews so he can distract the negativity that's going on like the racism topic with Maureen Dow d and the other situation with the congressman saying Liar . So much is happening and he has to figure out how he can change this all. its more pressure on him because he cant get his plan across because something pops up and it makes him stop and have to fins another way to get this Health care plan done.

President Obama flooded the Sunday morning news to get across to the members of the congress, not the the public because as Mr.brown said in class the public doesn't even get the right to vote.
I Feel as if it was really immature of President Obama to show up on all the news stations except Fox.
But at the end of the day i think even though this wasn't the right way to get his point across, all Obama was doing was trying to get the attention of the whole "racism" matter and back to his Healthcare Plan.

I think Obama flooded the Sunday morning news with interviews because he wanted to get his plan about healthcare across. I think it was smart of him not to go on Fox because he knew they would spend the most of their time discussing his plan and why he didn’t come on their show. I think his message was toward everybody but he wanted Congress to pay close attention because we would need them to pass his plan. He also briefly addressed Jimmy Carters take on the situation. He doesn’t believe it’s based on racism. He feels he’s having a healthy debate but we have to conduct ourselves properly. I think that was directed toward Joe Wilson’s outburst. He thinks the media wants to have a conversation about race because it’s a popular topic.

I believe President Obama did all those interviews to get his points about healthcare across in a setting he would not be interrupted, like in his speech to congress or in speeches with the public. I do believe that these interviews were partly for the people, because even if no one watched them on Sunday, they will be replayed and quoted many times after. T was to keep the topic on people’s minds and part of conversation. Even though we can’t vote, if enough people support this healthcare plan, many members of congress will have a hard time voting against it. I don’t believe this was for members of congress, because many of them are set on their opinions of this plan and 5 almost identical interviews with things they have already heard before is not going to change that.

I agree with Kendra, the go ahead for healthcare won't be determined by citizens like our parents, teachers, or neighbors, even though maybe it should be. But aside from that, I believe that President Obama was publically trying to clear the air on racist alligations and assumptions and trying to put the focus back on the healthcare bill as it should be.

I agree with the statement that had been said in class. President Obama flooded Sunday morning with his message not to persuade the people of the country that the healthcare plan would be productive, but to get the attention of Congress to show that he's serious about the healthcare plan. The people of the country don't have a say in what gets passed, Congress does.
President Obama made a wise decision not to talk to Fox News because now that's all they're talking about! He's getting a lot of exposure from it.

Mr. Obama flooded the news on sunday in order to get his healthcare reform issue across. He was interviewed by several networks except Fox which caused quite a controversy. Since Fox didn't show his healthcare reform speech, Obama decided not to get interviewed by them. President Obama as well tried to clear up the whole Joe Wilson and former president Jimmy Carter situation. That sunday morning, it was all about the reform.

I would have to say that President Obama flooded Sunday morning with his interview because he wanted to get his point across. Obama wanted to get back on the health care reform topic instead of concentrating on a comment that was made. President Obama wanted to get back on track with the health care reform issue and I think that’s exactly what he did. He wanted to get his message across and he did exactly that by flooding Sunday morning with his interviews.

Obama's approach on Sunday morning was to bring the American people back to the matter at hand. He handled the "Joe Wilson situation" very professionally and continued on with his health care proposal. I completely agree with Phillip and that Obama's intentions have succeeded for the most part.

President Obama flooded every news channel except fox 5 on Sunday morning. He was trying to get his point across to the public. We as regular people watch the news and may disagree or agree with his health care plan, but we have no say in the passing of President Obama's plan. He does not appear on television to win over the people to make him plan clearer to congress and the people who actually have a say in the passing of president Obama's plan for healthare.

Alvarez S. said...

I feel that he did this so people know what he is thinking. So he can tell people world wide what he's ready to do and making in clear and have to misunderstandings. That its not hear say about anything that he is directly saying it from his mouth to the television. He wanted everything to be clear from the healthcare to the problem with Joe Wilson. That whether people who don't work get healthcare to racist slurs. The interview was basically a clarification from the past couple of days.

President Obama did not flood Sunday morning with his message to get his views across to citizens, because the public doesn't get to vote on this topic. I do not agree that he did this to appeal to congress, or to convey his message. Rather he wanted to get the topic of interest off of the whole race issue, and toward something more meaningful than gossip.

C. Reyes said...

I feel that Obama flooded the Sunday news to prove a point. All the talk about the comment made during his healthcare speech calling him a “Liar” has nothing to do with the task at hand. His main priority was to get his point across during his speech and all the media that came after the speech had nothing to do with healthcare. So Obama flooding the Sunday news was to change that. Therefore I agree with M. Shah “all Obama was doing was trying to get the attention (off) of the whole "racism" matter and back to his Healthcare Plan.”

President Obama is flooding Sunday morning with this message because he wants to let the public know that he really wants to make a change. I also feel as though since the whole ''liar'' remark that he doesn't want to lose his audience. He states that tax won't increase. We've come so far having faith in this guy. Seeing is believing it's only right if we see for ourselves that this healthcare will not do our wallets any harm.

I agree with Philip. It makes perfect sense to broadcast an important message like that on all possible news areas. That way, no matter what news station is your preference, his message will reach them.
