US Citzen again?

Are all US citizens protected by the US Constitution? What does the term “enemy combatant” mean according to the US Justice System? What is a "speedy trial"?

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

5th Amendment to U.S. Constitution

In times of war are these actions legal? Forgivable? Desirable?

During our class today we talked about the 5th amendment about our right of protection. I believe that not all of U.S. citizens are protected. The government must be going by a protocol to determine what U.S. citizen is protected. How would they know who is an enemy combatant. The only way they would know is if they were watching the U.S. citizen. They can’t just assume anyone is an enemy combatant.
An enemy combatant is a person who speaks with the enemy. Which also can be a snitch. Who tells them what’s is going on and how the other side is going to attack them. The enemy combatant can be charged with holding information. A speedy trial is when the trial is prevailing rules, procedures and without an unreasonable or undue delay in a statutory period. Yes, they are because that country doesn’t want the other country to know what’s going on and how they will attack.

we talked about the 5th am. and how our rights are suppose to be protected. i agree with rich because and how the combatant is to suppose to speak wit the other person and that other could be a snitch and tell on you.

and that since the speedy trail has rules and procedures and un resaonable actions they have to delay there time.
