Everyone has access to creating media. The media changes the political process by that it changes and persuades one's mind to think differently. For example, that video wanted to show&tell us that Obama can make a change & that we should vote for him and such. The video showed actors and many other famous people that they are also in support of Obama and want us to support him too. The questions we need to ask ourselves when viewing various forms of media are 1)Were the people forced to do the video, so more people can vote for Obama? Various media outlets have entered themselves into the political discussion by that they talk about the "person" that they think can make the change. This can affect a lot of people's decisions now.

I agree with Tiffany, that everyone does have access to media. If anyone is not very rich they can use their home web-cam to express their feelings about something and post it somewhere evryone goes on a lot.
The media has a lot to do with a political preocessing change, because they televise information the way that people will think is interesting, so it will be in the media's hands of changing peoples minds before elections. Before the elections, the only thing people can watch before going out to vote is something the media shows.
The most important question to ask ourselves when viewing various forms of media is, what is the main purpose for the media to potray something like this?

Various media have entered themselves into the political discussion by showing live debates on television, and keeping an update of the votes being being counted for each state.

I agree with tiffany when she says that everyone has access to the media. When the media makes a commercial for a caimpaign, that's the only way the person can show how they are going to make a change if they are elected president. Like the same example obama, he had a very famous producer & many different races in his video , white women , african american women , white men , black men & most of them were famous people.( even a person that was deaf was in the video) Questions that come to mind is , IS HE REALLY GOING TO CHANGE AMERICA? & HOW IS HE DIFFERENT FROM HILARY? I think making a music video was real extravagent cause it was really unique especially because he's a african american running for president!!!!

I agree with what tiffany said that everyone has access to creating media. The media changes peoples perspectives on certain things that they start to persuade you different ways by making someone else look good or bad. The video I feel wanted to express what Obama was about and how he could bring about change not only as being president but the first black president to get this far in the campaign. The video also showed camios of famous people supporting Obama which like i said would persuade voters to vote more or vote for obama,it shows a strong positive message towards the young voters out their to actually vote and have a voice in this country. The video promises change that makes me want to vote. This video I fell can effect how people feel about Obama and it may work in his favor

I believe Tiffany had it right when she said that everyone has access to creating media. How media can effect one's opinions, decisions and thoughts is a different story. For example, I feel the "Yes We Can" video was deffinitely targeted at a younger demographic. That video was meant to pursade young voters and take Obama into consideration. The video uses musical artists and actors that a younger set can recognize. Also, the video basically promises change.
Manpreet asked "...what is the main purpose for the media to portray something like this?" As I stated before, its to target younger voters to vote, making Obama someone they can relate to, someone they feel is on their side.

I agree with what some of the students have said about the media. Everyone has access to creating the media. Like we saw in the Obama video, he made that video because he wanted people to vote for him. The video showed us actors and actresses who sang the song, "Yes we Can". This changes how people would think about him and persuaded some who even watched the video to vote for him. The media has a lot to do with political processing. It can change people thought's and views about how they think about something.

Tiffany is completely right with everyone has access in creating media. The media can change the political process greatly by changing one's thoughts and opinions about the campaign. Also like what Manpreet said they televise what people think is interesting to watch. What we saw in class was a music video by a famous producer named Will Iam. He made a video consisting of Obama's speech. Several other artists were featured in and others. One question I have to him would be now if Obama wins and becomes president and if he doesn't keep all of his promises, is he worried that many would put the blame on him for switching peoples decisions.

To anwser Brian's question I don't think people could truly blame will i am if Obabma does not live up to his promises, he is not responsibkle for Obama's actions. But by taking this pro-Obama stance he is now responsible for holding him true to his word. If will i am and people like him were loud enough to sway voters, they must also be loud enough to hold politians to their words.
I also agree with Alyssa c, that will i am's video was meant to target a younger audience, and that was not done by chance. The makers of the video purposely had singers and actors that would appeal to a younger audience, because that is who Obama's message of change is mostly geared towards.
I believe everyone has the right to have their voices and opinions heard, but when celebrities and other random people who have no political backgrounds start putting their views out to the masses, we run the risk of poeple voting with them just because of their celebrity. What makes will i am the political voice to the new generation?
If you were a celebrity or person or influence, would you use your fame to influence a presidential election?

I agree with Tiffany when she said everyone has access to creating media. Anyone can get their opinion out there. I also agree with Alyssa and Vickie when they said the will i am video used actors and singers that would capture the younger audience. Those are the votes that Obama wants because the young voters are the future. When viewing various forms of media, its important to ask the point of view behind it. And towards Vickies question, I think it would be great if famous people put their political views out there.

T.V. stations, newspapers, magazines, periodicals, and the internet are all media outlets. Anyone from respected journalists to an internet blogger has the ability to create media. The media changes the political process significantly by keeping the American public informed about the candidates' viewpoints, as well as their daily activities. The media chooses what they want to report, so if some issues become more important if they get more media attention. Senator Obama became a top candidate ONLY when the media started to focus on him. The media also adds their own bias into what they report, no matter how small the bias appears. In this way, the media greatly impacts the political process.
We need to ask ourselves how much bias is involved in what we're
reading or watching, if the media source is credible, what exactly is being reported, and from what point of view is the news being reported.

I agree what almost every one said about how every one has access to creating media. And i agree how tiffany said that different videos can make make different thoughts like this video it shows that the way Obama speaks he can make change and that he can run this country. And that helps Obama with his votes. If the media was to show a video of Obama where Obama was giving a good speech and he was just talking and talking he would lose votes like that.

i agree with every one that every one has access to creating media. both the poor and the rich. because all you need is a digatal camra or a cam corder. they chaged the political process by showing the races and speches on tv or the net.we need to ask ourselves were do they get there info from and we need to try to reseach the info just to make such we have the right info.

As everybody has said before me... everyone has access to the media now a day. This political campaign has brought many different feelings and it is shown through the media whether it be good or bad. Politics use the media to advance in the race and trash their competitors. The video showed not only how people support Obama, but it also showed how he had plenty of supporters which keeps on expanding. As Octavia has said the video has made me want to vote. It shows how I can make a difference just by voting. I agree with Vickie on what she wrote in her second paragraph. In the generation we live in a lot of people look up to celebrities because they want to be famous. So the fact that celebs are putting their faces in campaigns at times is not really a good thing. Because it might not be the correct choice. But how do we get people to vote for who they want to vote for?

I agree with everyone that agreed with Tiffany that everyone has access to the media. It is also true that this video seemed like it was aiming for a younger audience because younger audiences are into watching music videos and listening to music and it is what they do on there free time. The answer to Samantha’s question is that the best way is to make a music video or other things that attract attention to the people to make them vote for them.

I agree with what Anta R said. Today the media is in our everyday lifestyles. Everything we do and the choices we make involve with the media. And whether we are watching a video on You Tube or a public service announcement on TV they all influence our opinions on the candidates. Also now we can view significant debates online as well. The media sources are very important in making our decisions. Media has become very involved in the political scene, and it allows people to access information much easier. The media and famous celebrities in the media also effect on the candidates. For example, because he has a lot of celebrities supporting Obama, this will have a lot of the younger generations voting for him.

I think that everyone is right about the media getting the younger audiances attension. And by making these kinds of videos it will attract them and Obama will get more people to vote for him. But if Obama can make videos to attract younger audiances cant Hillary do the same?
