I felt sort of excited because I finally have the chance to vote for who I wanted because back then when I didn't have the chance to vote, the person I didn't want to win, won. It's important to vote because you are choosing who's better for the country. You wouldn't want to choose someone bad and you can help make the US a better country. We just have to & should vote. It's for our country after all.

COURTENEY RICHARDSON

As i was filling out the form for me to vote i kind of felt like more of an adult. Also i felt like does my one vote make a difference? i also feel that if i vote for this person would they really do what they say they would like bring home all the soilders or go back to helping the hurricane katrina victims? honestly i really dont know why is so important to vote because to me President George Bush was a mistake in office so why would you make another mistake.

Voting is something that should not be looked on as if your choosing the next mistake for 08.Voting is important and more people should be out there voting and voicing their oppinions. As I learned in browns class last year it is a very small amount of people who actually take the time to vote, mostly people dont vote because they don't care or are afraid of some false consequences if they do vote. We should not forget that this country was set up so the people would have a chance to say what they wanted, and be able to finally make descisions.

Michelle thanks for re-joining the conversation. It is always refreshing to know that graduates from QHST still care enough to share their thoughts will our current senior class.

I agree with Courtney that we are making a difference just by voting.Since, recent polls show an increae from before of young-adult voters to increase.I felt very excited like many of my classmates to register for thefirst time to vote. I had a feeling that I was going to finally do something, being a American citizen.
I think just by voting I have taken the responsbilty to change something.

Ihave a question, what other change do you think we as young-adults can do rather than voting?

Being a citizen is being able to vote and this year will be a very exciting year because I can actually vote. Voting is voicing your opinions and the seniors this year will be able to do that. I agree with Courtney, we are really making a difference just by voting. As Tiffany also said voting is important because you are choosing whose better to run the country but i doubt the citizens really know what the President will do. It is about trusting what he/she says.

It felt good, I feel that I can actually make a difference now, if not in this world at least in my country. As i was filling this form out i started to realize that im getting closer and closer to being an adult. Now that I'm an registered voter I feel that past things that happened when coming to voting i can get mad at in the future because i have a say now.

I agree with Courtney and Anta. being a citizen of the United states means that you have the right to vote. I think that it's important to vote because you get to decide who wants to win. I am happy that I am now allowed to vote because last time the person I didnt want to win, won the election which made me upset. I personally would want someone who does a lot for our country. A good example of that would be Bill Clinton. We need someone like Bill Clinton who can do a lot for the United states of America.

I agree with Jamal on the fact that the feeling of feeling good to register. It really does feel now where making a difference. Its very important to vote especially during this election. Either we could have the first African American president or a female president. Voting is important basically because what everybody has said, who you feel is best fit to lead our country. I never voted before and I'm hoping to do this year. I feel by me voting my voice is finally being heard.

I don't know what to feel. It is important to make our voices heard because of our age demographic. These are difficult times and we should be apart of the change of America. But, because of the timing of this election (while most young adults are thinking and planning for college), it may hinder our ability to find out what each candidate/nominee is about.

I agree with every one it did fell good to knowing that your voice could be heard by voting. They are right part of being a citizen is being able to vote. To be able to vote for what we believe in and what we stand for. And to try to vote for the right person in office who’s going to make the right choices in life by find a solutions to the problems in America than just the problems out side of it. When we can make the U.S better than we can make other countries better.

Although I didnt complete the form in class. When I got home I finished the registration sheet and it made me feel good. I think it is my obligation now that I am of age to have some kind of say in the future leaders of our country. Especially in this upcoming election where if Obama wins the election it would go down in history.

Knowing i have a say in the countrys outcome is a great feeling but also puts alot of pressure on me. Im am very excited knowing i will help elect the next president of our "GREAT COUNTRY". I think George Bush has over stayed his welcome and i am hoping the next president can clean this country up.

I agree with everyone in this case becuase it makes me feel like we are giving our input about how we want our country to be run. To be given a chance to vote is someting we should appreciate becuase there are places who can't choose what they want but they have to follow the leaders and how they want the country to be runned.

Filling out the form had me thinking like "is this gonna make a difference?" Is there gonna be change? But we also have to realize that we atleast get a chance to vote and to have our voice heard.Like Durkani said other countries dont have this same privledge. But all were doing is trying to make the country better.

Not until reading my fellow classmates comments, do I think I recognized the importance of just even registering to vote. I didn't think that until I was in the booth, giving my input to who the future president would be that I could make a change. But registering is a baby step, not that many teenagers even do that until later in life this day in age. It feels like one more stepping stone on the path to adulthood.

Being able to ahve a chance to vote felt good because growing up in the past decades black people werent given the chance to vote, so i feel i should talke the opportunity because my brothers and sisters faught for this day for us to be equal and have equal opportunities so it feels great. It feel like im making a new step in my life im maturing and making my own decisions into adulthood and voting makes me feel like i ahve a voice in this country who knows my one little vote could make a difference in how the world is 4 years from now. Thats why it is so important to vote because if you dont you have no voice.

I feel that once your over 18 and is an American citizen, you should be registered to vote. I agree with what Durkhanai said, being able to vote puts your input about who you want your country to be run by. Every vote counts, so by voting everyone will hear your voice by the outcome of the elections. To me I felt more mature and more of an adult when I registered to vote. To me it is very important to vote because your vote can change the outcome of the elections and also change how the U.S. will run in the next four years. I agree with Alyssa, I think it is just a baby step to voting. I think that once you give in your ballot then you have finished the process of voting.

I feel its good because it gives me a chance to make a difference. But since I have never voted before I cant tell you how it makes me feel but after voting maybe I will have a different view about voting.

It feels kind of weird to register to vote. The reason why I say that is when I was younger I was always on the outside looking in and really didn’t have our only voice was our parents and now we have our own. That is really good for us because now we can vote for the up coming election. I think that it is very important that our age group goes out and vote for who we like. I think that we can really make a big difference in the election.

it felt good to register because its a step closer to actually voting in which kids our age rarely do. its important because it decides who runs this country of ours, the boss, the person who runs the show. i cant personally vote just yet but if i could i know who i would choose.
